We recently visited Nörten-Hardenberg in Lower Saxony and discovered a hidden gem. Our trip combined history, culture, and relaxation, leaving us with wonderful memories.

The highlight was Hardenberg Castle, a 13th-century ruin that feels alive with history. The castle, still owned by the noble family that built it, offers guided tours that can be booked online. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended due to the varied surfaces. The castle ruins are located at the top of a hill, which is a bit inclined but takes less than 10 minutes to walk up.

After the castle tour, we were guided to the bottom of the hill to the information center, which houses the distillery and a spirits and souvenir shop. The distinctive distillery aromas added to the ambiance of our tour. After the tour, we sampled various products, including gin, liqueurs, and whiskey, and bought some favorites like Von Hallers Gin. Non-alcoholic options were also available.

Conveniently located near the A7 highway, Nörten-Hardenberg is a perfect stopover for road trips. We highly recommend it for a unique and enriching travel experience.

Das Whiskytasting war wirklich hervorragend. Schon die Tastingbox war sehr professionell, aber auch Präsentation und Whisky waren sehr gut. Ich freue mich auf das Gintasting am 9.5.21! Vielen Dank & weiter so!
